TECH firms are facing a Government probe into the targeting of online shoppers with “personalis­ed pricing”.

Some online firms use customer cu profiling to adjust prices pr based on factors such as where people live and whether wh they are married.

Business Secretary Greg Clark, Cl announcing the probe, pr says they will look at at whether “personalis­ed pricing” pr is preventing shoppers pe getting the best deals.

Clark said: “We are clear that th companies should not be abusing this technology and customer data to treat consumers, particular­ly vulnerable ones, unfairly.”
