But more than six months later, there was still no sign and he was not responding to calls, texts or emails.

Furious Greg, who is married to Dawn, 28, said: “It was made worse by the fact my mum Carol paid for the video. It was her wedding present to Dawn and I, and no expense was spared. She chose the top package and paid in full upfront.”

Greg and Dawn, of Leith, Edinburgh, signed up with Unr ival led Videos, run by Raymond, after spotting the firm on the internet.

He said: “We didn’t meet him in person before the wedding as he is based in Kilmarnock. But it was all discussed in detail.

“Every element of our big day was to be documented. This included bridal preparatio­n, the speeches, a montage of voxpops from guests and various dances. We even paid extra for four DVD copies as the standard package only had three.”

They paid £103 deposit by credit card in November and the balance of £940 in March.

Greg and Dawn, a nurse, married at Norton House Hotel, Edinburgh, on April 28.

But they started to chase Unrivalled Videos in July when they hadn’t heard anything.

Greg, a logistics officer wit h t he Scot t i sh Ambulance Service, said: “At first, Lewis Raymond said the DVD would be finished by July 25 but by the middle of August, there was no news.

“When I chased him up, he said the DVD was almost ready and he’d post everything out the following Monday.”

Nothing arrived and on August 31, Raymond claimed to have posted the package to the Smiths.

Greg said: “It still didn’t turn up. WhenW I quizzed him, he couldn’t could tell me how it had been posted. “He clearly had no clue if it had been sent by special delivery, first-cclass post or courier.
