Refund? Oh yes you can

-

I booked tickets for a pantomime, paying £135 by credit card. But the dates and times of the show have changed and don’t suit. Am I entitled to a refund as this is not what I was sold? Yes, as it sounds like the theatre are in breach of contract. But check the terms of booking. If you bought tickets for a specific performance, then you can expect that to be honoured. If the venue are only offering replacements, speak to your bank. Leanne Clark thought Disneyland Paris were taking the mickey when they cancelled her airport transfer.

She arrived at Charles de Gaulle to find the Magical Shuttle bus had finished for the day, leaving her to pay £147 for a taxi to her hotel.

Then Disney refused a refund, saying she should have checked the timetable.

Leanne, 37, who was travelling with her mum Yvonne, aunt Karen and six-year-old daughter Silver, said: “I had paid £1689 for four nights’ accommodation, park entry and transfers.

“Disney knew what time our flight arrived. If the shuttle service closed before that, why did they book us on it?”

Leanne, of Stirling, called me when Trading Standards said they couldn’t help as her problem was in France.

Disneyland Paris said: “We apologise for the inconvenience caused to our guest and her family and are arranging a refund for the taxi costs.” to sort out the themess. mess. Jim, of Hamilton, said: “E.ON are threatening to put my door in but I’ve been paying ScottishPower for three years.”

I got on to E.ON and ScottishPower, who sprang into action.

ScottishPower said: “We apologise. The national database was wrong and the supply number belonged to another property.

“We’ve refunded all payments and £50 as a goodwill gesture.”
