Forget Goldenball­s, it’s time for an ode to Andy

In post-operative grogginess, poor Andy didn’t realise that his X-ray picture exposed much more than his new hip.

But it didn’t take Hawk-Eye to notice the Murray Mound. Maybe the poet laureate, Glaswegian Carol Ann Duffy, will cheer him up by writing an ode to his ordeal as he strives to get to Wimbledon. That’s what she did for David Beckham after he tore tendons in his hheel ahead of ththe 2010 World Cup. Beckham’s B poem was called Achilles. Murray’s could simply be Goolies.

Seething and shouting and pointing his finger with fury, he scolded and belittled Green MSP Ross Greer in an interview for GMB, attempting to chastise him like a naughty schoolboy for daring to offer a different view on Churchill’s story.

Greer is rather geeky and happens to look like a teenager ger who can’t get a date. Had he looked like Tyson Fury with red hair, I doubt Morgan would have been rude enough to call himm a “thick ginger turd”.

Twenty-four-year-old Greer, the youngest MSP yet, had committed the offence of responding in less-than-favourable terms to a glorifying Tory tweet posted on the anniversar­y of Churchill’s death.

“Once again for the people in the back… Churchill was a white supremacis­t mass murderer,” Greer tweeted.

OK, interspers­ing his words with silly clappy-hands emojis did nothing to add to the gravitas of his argument. And his explanatio­n later that he tweets like a 24-year-old because he IS a 24-year-old was flippant.
