Joyful Juke lets drivers access car from Google Home kit

with which the carmaker hopes it can entice another million people to buy to match the million who have already purchased the previous generation. And its most ardent fans are in the UK. Out of the almost 300,000 in Europe who have snapped up the Juke, more than 25 per cent of them live this side of the Channel.

But I have some sad news. The bug eyes, which have always set this car apart from any of its rivals, are gone.

“This is the Juke all grown up and matured,” said Chetan Choham, design manager with Nissan Design Europe.

“We have smoothed out the headlights, made the new Juke longer, wider wide and taller.

“TThis is the sleek sophisticated Juke – still got loads of character with the wwheels pushed out to the corners for a rugged stance.”

The T new Juke is certainly more sop sophisticated than before and, in the Tekna+ trim level, it comes with some som beautiful personalisation. There Th are three two- tone roof options, opt new body colours such as Fuji Fu Red, and delightful interior trims that are soft to the touch and gorgeous to look at.

There is plenty of legroom and head room back and front due to very clever tweaking by the designers and the 1.0-litre petrol engine delivering 117PS is a star, particularly on roundabouts.

The Nissan Juke is a car conceived in the UK at Paddington, engineered at Cranfield and built in Sunderland. It is, therefore, very much a UK car that has been designed with our many roundabouts in mind.

Drivers come in at speed to a roundabout, brake, then proceed on to it, turning first this way and that. The new Juke excels at this exercise – precise, agile and willing – and it takes this athleticism with it on to our other roads, be they country, city or motorway.

The 1.0- litre engine is a gem, with six- speed manual or seven- speed automatic transmission offering both greater efficiency and fewer emissions than its predecessor.

This new Juke offers high- tech connectivity, lovely design and the kind of performance that will see you clear at every magic roundabout.
