Barca sick on draw in a misfire

-

Barcelona dropped two precious points in San Sebastian as Real Sociedad came from behind to claim a 2-2 draw.

It looked like the La Liga leaders would claim another win as goals from Antoine Griezmann and Luis Suarez put them ahead after Mikel Oyarzabal’s penalty opener for Sociedad.

But Swede Alexander Isak levelled in 62 minutes and Real Madrid can now knock Barcelona off top with a win away to Valencia tonight.

Barca had a late penalty appeal turned down when Gerard Pique appeared to be tugged by defender Diego Llorente.

And Sergio Busquets, who gave away the Sociedad spot-kick for a shirt pull, said: “I don’t know why VAR didn’t intervene, it’s a clear penalty against Pique.

“I’d like to hear an explanation but there won’t be one.”

German champions Bayern Munich roared back to life in the Bundesliga with a 6-1 thrashing of Werder Bremen.

Philippe Coutinho was the star of the show with a hat-trick while hitman Robert Lewandowski hit a double and Thomas Muller was also on target.

Bayern, who had lost their last two league games to Borussia Monchengladbach and Leverkusen, fell behind to a goal from Milot Rashica but roared back in style.

RB Leipzig eased to a 3- 0 win away to Fortuna Dusseldorf as they stayed six points clear of Bayern and opened up a two-point lead at the top.

Patrik Schick grabbed an early opener before Timo Werner’s penalty after the break and a Nordi Mukiele strike sealed a comfortable win.

Monchengladbach can return to the summit with a win at Wolfsburg today.
