Amy Macdonald has said she’s grown up… and that has meant selling almost all of her collection of supercars.
The millionaire singersongwriter said being in lockdown at home also confirmed she’s done the right thing because, like the rest of us, she has only been going out to get her grocery shopping.
The 32-year-old, who found fame with her chart- topping 2007 debut album This Is The Life, has got rid of all but two of her 30 high- performance cars.
That included a £ 76,000 Audi R8, a Bentley Continental, a £250,000 Ferrari 458 Speciale and a £170,000 Ferrari 488 GTB. At one stage, she had even wanted a £ 1mi l l ion Bugatti Veyron.
Amy said: “I’ve not been going anywhere. I’ve been at home the whole time.
“The furthest I’ve been is to the supermarket and back again. It’s only five minutes away so I’ve not been going anywhere just like everyone else.
“I still love cars. It’s still something I’ve always been interested in. I like to drive but I’ve found, as I’ve got older, that I’m not as obsessive as I was when I was younger. I think your view on life changes a little bit. I’ve just got two cars now.” Hunkered down at the £1million home in Bishopbriggs, near Glasgow, that she shares with footballer husband Richard Foster, the singer is less relaxed about the problems for young players in lower leagues in Scot land because of the coronavirus crisis.
