I’m walking on air in 12-year-old dress

I’ve had this dress for… eek… 12 years. I forgot I had it.

It was quite literally at the back of my wardrobe – my summer wardrobe.

I tried it on last week. I wanted to see if it would still fit. Thank heavens for the elasticated waistband.

I bought it from Browns in Glasgow,

Princess Square, but sadly the shop is no longer there.

Sharon was the owner and she was always so helpful. She told me that this piece would last forever. Timeless.

I can chuck it in the washing machine and it comes out new every single time. It has a touch of the Tiger King.

I remember wearing it to a Ladies Day at

Hamilton Park Racecourse. I was hosting the day. I remember thinking it was a little short to wear on stage.

This photograph shows me wearing it in Paris at the Ritz Hotel. My friends and I always wanted to have a few cocktails there.

At the price of £30, we only had one each. By mistake, I nudged my friend’s cocktail and there was a slight spillage on the table. She still jokes about it to this day. I owe her a fiver for the spillage.

I love the colours of the dress and the sparkles.

It’s a fun dress but now I think you can wear this as a top too.

It can be a summer dress or a winter top.

I can jazz it up by wearing funky leggings and boots. I am certainly not a trendsetter. I wear what I think is right for me. Who wants to really follow a trend? Only dead fish go with the flow.

Clothes bring back memories. What is it that they say… “Buy cheap and you will buy twice”.

Plus falling in love with your old clothes again is a great way to measure your weight. I never go on the scales.

I have a black skirt that measures my waistline.

If I can get into it, good. I’ve had it for 20 years – although it’s a bit tight just now.

When is the next JoeWicks Joe Wicks workout?
