Shved’s set for a fast exit
“Ryan wanted to become a better player. He would stay out after training at Inverness to do extra.
“He would work on his weaknesses and his physicality. He’s one that always wanted to improve. That’s a side to him that you don’t read enough about.”
Warren feels a sense of pride watching him for Celtic now– not because he was part of his development but because he was able to share a pitch with him.
He said: “I feel real pride when I watch Ryan now for Celtic, in the Champions League, Europa League, Old Firm derbies or for Scotland.
“I played no part in his development. I just feel proud that I had the privilege of playing alongside him.
“I’m proud that he’s risen from where he was. He has kicked on to another level now but I’d love to see him go on and win many more international caps.
“He’s a big part of the Scotland set-up now and Ryan can go on to stake a claim as being one of the best Scottish products in recent times.
“He could also go on and win multiple trophies for Celtic – when you build your side around lads like Ryan, who have that character, that bodes well for any club’s future.
“I’m so pleased for him because he’s always stayed humble. He’s so down to earth even though he’s kicked on to far greater heights in his career.”
Marian Shved’s dad insists the winger’s Celtic exit will be confirmed soon.
The Ukrainian winger is set to either be loaned out or sold after a disappointing first season at Parkhead where he barely featured.
He has been linked with a mo v e t o Hu n g a r i a n champions Fenercvaros, as well as a move to sides in his homeland, including former club Karpaty Lviv.
And his father Vasily has revealed his son’s future is set to be sorted imminently.
He said: “There will be clarity about Marian’s next club very soon. It’s in the hands of his agent now.
“The Scottish league was ended prematurely and Marian returned home due to the coronavirus. He kept himself in good shape here.
“He’s 22, plays for a top European team and is in the Ukraine squad, so he is fine.
“He still has a great future ahead of him.”
Shved has made just three appearances for the Hoops since his £2 million move last year as one of Brendan Rodgers’ last signings.
A five-minute appearance against Clyde in the Scottish Cup earlier this year was his f irst sighting in the Hoops since October and he looks set to be moved on soon.
