Tragic end for whale

A distressed whale trapped in a harbour is expected to die, experts have said.

It is stranded near a sailing club in Wicklow after losing its bearings, the I r ish Wha le and Dolphin Group added.

The Sowerby’s beaked whale is usually found in deep water.

The IWDG fears it will have to attempt to put the beast down.

It said: “Euthanasia might be an option if we can find a vet prepared to attempt it.”
