Screen pioneer dies
Tributes have been paid to Earl Cameron, one of the first black actors to make it in British cinema, following his death aged 102.
Actor Paterson Joseph said: “Giant Man. His generation’s pioneering shoulders are what my generation of actors stand on. No shoulders were broader than this gentleman.”
The screen pioneer’s career began in 1951 with Pool Of London, the first Brit film with an interracial relationship.
The Bermudian, who lived in Warwickshire, was made a CBE in 2009.
