Swiss motor show fears
The 2021 Geneva Motor Show has been cancelled and the whole future of the event thrown into doubt.
Organisers have pressed the stop button on the exhibition – due to take place in March next year – and instead have put it up for sale.
They blame poor demand from exhibitors and car brands for the show, the largest public event in Switzerland, which last drew in half a million people and an estimated £171million.
Geneva was one of the first events to be hit this year by coronavirus. Insiders fear it will never open its doors again as manufacturers move increasingly online.
