EX-RUGBY STAR ON WHAT MAKES RELATIONSHIP TIK Former Scotland ace reveals dance videos with Pussycat Doll love can be quite trying

- Heather Greenaway

Ex-rugby star Thom Evans has revealed that doing TikTok dances with his Pussycat Doll is a lot harder than it looks.

The ex- Scotland player and gi rl f riend Nicole Scherzinger have become regulars on the lip-syncing dance video site, which has more than 100million users.

But he said fans may see a little less of him for a while as he is on crutches after a routine knee procedure.

The 35-year- old said: “I am an enthusiast when it comes to dancing but she makes it look so easy.

“And I have to say, learning those TikToks is something else. It’s such hard work and been tough on the old relationship at times.”

He admitted he had no idea how huge the platform was unt il Nicole , 42, introduced it to him.

He said: “It’s really taken off. I couldn’t believe it at first. It’s nice to see families getting involved and using this time for dancing.”

But Thom said his fancy footwork is taking a back seat for now.

He added: “I had a clearout of my knee two weeks ago and I’m on crutches, which is a bit annoying, so I have to find some TikToks that don’t involve moving your legs.” The former Glasgow Warrior had to retire from rugby at 24 after a serious neck injury while playing for Scotland against Wales in Cardiff.

But after a spell as a model and a stint on Strictly Come Dancing, he agreed to do Celebrity X Factor last year and met Nicole, a judge on the show.

His band Tri- Star, with fellow rugby stars Ben Foden and Levi Davis, made it through several rounds of the hit show.

Thom hinted his singing days may not be over yet and

performing on stage with Nicole, who is set to tour next year with the Pussycat Dolls, was a real possibility.

He said: “I love to sing. I love to dance. It’s always been something that was ingrained in me when I was younger.

“The X Factor was the most exhilarating thing when it all comes together.

“I’ ll never be a rock star. But Nicole has said, possibly for one of her warm- up acts, Tri- Star might get the nod.”

As travel restrictions were eased, Thom was able to take Nicole to Portugal last week to meet his parents for the first time.

And on the Scottish Rugby podcast, he revealed he’s always keen to return to Scotland.

He added: “My time up in Glasgow was one of the best

times of my life.”
