RUSSELL HOWARD REVEALS HIS DREAM GUESTS

-

The TV star is a massive fan of the Scots comic and says he has been trying to get him on Sky’s The Russell Howard Hour for years but Kevin’s schedule has always been too crazy. Russell, 40, hasn’t seen Kevin since last May when the pair got so drunk together after Liverpool’s epic 4- 0 win over Barcelona in the Champions League that Russell had to go to bed.

The funnyman said: “I’m desperate to get Kevin on my new series. He’d be amazing and would blow the viewers away. “I’ve tried to get him on loads but it just hasn’t quite worked out with his schedule. But I’m pretty confident we’ll get him on soon. He will be worth the wait. “The last time I saw him was the night Liverpool stuffed Barcelona 4- 0. I’ve got a season ticket so we were at Anf ield together. We got d runk in the bar afterwards. “It’s impossible not to be a fan of the Big Yin – he’s wonderful. I’ve tried to seduce Billy many times and have sent him cigars, chocolates and letters but he’s always had other stuff on. I’ve had lovely letters back saying he wasn’t available but I have no intention of giving up.”

Russell, who was supposed to finish his world tour at Edinburgh Fest iva l this month before everything was put on hold for Covid, said Scotland is one of his favourite places to perform thanks to the comedy value provided by the people.

Russell, who shot to fame as a panellist on BBC hit Mock The Week, said: “A couple of years ago, I was halfway through a show at Glasgow’s SSE Hydro when a fight broke out between two guys who were sitting up in the gods. They were so loud – it was proper fists on faces.

“I have never become so English so quickly. I stopped mid-sentence and said, ‘Oh, excuse me, what’s going on over there?’ Then this wee woman down the front pipes up, ‘It’s just a fight, son – leave them to it.’ Scottish audiences are hardcore.” Russell’s show is back on screens on September 10 on Sky One and NOWTV.
