Nuno’s got no excuse

-

Nuno Espirito Santo insists Wolves can only blame themselves after being held to a 3-3 draw by Brighton.

Aaron Connolly gave Brighton an early lead but Romain Saiss levelled with a header, Dan Burn scored an own goal and Ruben Neves converted a penalty to put Wolves in command by half-time.

Neal Maupay’s penalty straight after the interval gave Brighton hope and Dunk then headed in a Leandro Trossard cross in 70 minutes

It almost got even better for Brighton as Trossard ran through to score shortly afterwards but his effort was disallowed, while Owen Otasowie should have won it at the death for Wolves.

Nuno said: “I’m sad and

frustrated. We had the game under control and in the second half we should have done much better.

“It’s no excuse. For us as a team we should perform and act much better. It’s an educational process.”

Eberechi Eze’s wonder goal put the cap on a fine 2- 0 win for Crystal Palace over Sheffield United.

Jeffrey Schlupp bagged the opener inside four minutes when he was teed up by Christian Benteke and slotted the ball beyond keeper Aaron Ramsdale, with a slight deflection.

Schlupp was forced off with an injury in the 40th minute but replacement Eze made an immediate impact with a spectacular solo goal.

The 22-year-old forward started his run inside his own half before gliding past two Blades players and side-footing the ball home from outside the box.

Eze said: “I just saw a lot of space and not many men back, so I thought I may as well take a chance.”
