Jack to show he’s learned his spot at Livi

Jack Hamilton is desperate to show he has learned his lessons at striker school by helping extend Livingston’s feelgood factor.

The 20-year-old has been recalled from a goal-laden loan spell at East Fife and will go straight into the Lions squad for this af ternoon’s clash with Ross County.

David Martindale’s fifthplaced side aim to make it eight wins in a row today and Hamilton, who hit the net nine times in 13 appearances for the League One Fifers, is convinced that his time in the lower leagues has lifted his game to a new level.

He said: “I’d already been out on loan with Alloa and Queen of the South before going to East Fife and I feel my game has developed a lot. I believe I have grown in stature.

“You can only learn from people like Stephen Dobbie at Queens and Kevin Smith at East Fife and doing that has been a massive factor for me.

“They’re both experienced strikers and the wee tips they’ve passed on can only be good for me.

“I’ve taken them on board and that has led to me scoring more goals inside the box as well as scoring with a couple of headers.

“I had to be sharp in my thinking alongside Dobbie as you never know what he’s going to do.

“It’s been the same with Kevin and it’s been brilliant to play off them.”

Livingston are working around the clock to ensure the fixture goes ahead after moving the kick-off back 24 hours in a bid to beat the weather. And Hamilton is just as keen to show he’s capable of adding a different dimension to their attack.

He said: “Livingston have been absolutely flying but hopefully I can get into the team and hit the ground running.

“I feel confident after my successful spell at East Fife.

“I’ve been learning about the need to mix my game up. I’ve improved my game and feel I can do all of the things that a striker is required to do.

“I’m also going to be part of what is a conf ident Livingston side.

“I have felt all of the buzz that we’ve had at the club recently in training and we need to take all of that into the Ross County game and maintain it.”
