Jela: Dons repeat can seal Prem

Dons in a season – with a stunning overhead kick.

And he’s convinced that if Steven Gerrard’s men collect another three points in the Granite City this afternoon, it will go a long way to winning the Premiership.

After last weekend’s Old Firm victory against Celtic, Rangers can go a massive 22 points clear at the top, with the Hoops playing Hibs tomorrow night.

And former Croatia star Jelavic believes it could be another pivotal moment in the title race.

He told MailSport: “If we beat Aberdeen, Rangers will be close to that first title in 10 years, which is incredible.

“It’s such an important game. It doesn’t matter that we are 19 points ahead in the table.

“We have to take every game seriously until this title is secured.

“Hopeful ly we can win on Sunday and finally put one hand on the trophy.

“In these games against Aberdeen, the players shouldn’t need any special motivation.

Historical ly for Rangers it ’s a lways dif f icult going to Aberdeen. They make it hard for you and we all know about the rivalry between the two clubs.

“But it was amazing to play those types of games.

“Because you know it’s going to be tough, you know you have to prepare properly and give 100 percent to win.

“And you know if you beat them there it will be a fantastic feeling.”

Gers defender Connor Goldson knows they’ll get a tough test at Pittodrie today.

The stopper said: “The Old Firm win was a big three points but you go from that to Aberdeen away, probably the secondtoughest game of the season.

“Those and Hibs are probably the toughest away grounds to go to in this league, so we know what performance and intensity is needed to get us the three points.

“We’ve been working hard in training this week, making little tweaks and we want to improve when things are going well.

“We spoke about it this week. It’s better to fix the roof when the sun’s shining.

“Hopefully we don’t have to wait for a blip and we haven’t had to wait for a loss to work and improve. We worked all this week on adjustments we can make.”
