I’ll leave Chris in shade

- Scott McDermott

Nicky Cadden reckons it’s finally time for him to grab some headlines off twin brother Chris.

The Forest Green Rovers winger is eyeing up a promotion to League One in England this year – and has ambitions of playing at an even higher level.

The Scot is loving life down south having left Morton in the summer.

Brother Chris became Hibs’ third signing of the January transfer window on Friday after he joined the Easter Road side from MLS outf it Columbus Crew.

Scotland international Chris earned a dream move from Motherwell to the United States in 2019 but despite lifting some silverware he failed to secure regular firstteam football.

He’s delighted to be back in Scotland and is looking forward to kick-starting his

career in Leith. But Nicky, who has been superb for Forest Green so far this term, insists he’s now ready to shine.

He told MailSport: “I feel confident that I can play even higher and hopefully I’ll be in League One next season with Forest Green.

“After that, we can take it from there.

“We’re in a really good position at the moment halfway through the season and it’s going well.

“It would be huge to get over the line this year – I want another promotion under my belt.

“I need to take a bit of the limelight off Chris!

“He won the MLS Cup recently and has just signed for Hibs, so I need to level that out a wee bit.

“We’re in touch all the time as brothers. For myself, living on my own down here will help me as a person and shape me in later life.

“It was hard when he was in America because of the time difference but now that he’s back home we still speak every day.”
