Elliott’s gelding looks Escarily good at Naas

- ■ Joe Punter

Escaria Ten (3.15) can take a huge career step forward at Naas.

Gordon Ell iott ’s talented charge goes for Grade 3 glory as he aims to stay on course for the Cheltenham Festival.

Escaria Ten was a fine fifth to RSA jolly Monkfish on his return before routing the opposition at Thurles before Christmas.

He faces an even tougher task but the potential is in there for him to shine and he can deny stablemate Pencilfulloflead under Jack Kennedy.

Elliott also has a live contender for the Limestone Lad Hurdle in the shape of GRAND ROI (1.15).

The five-year- old improved again when cutting through the mud to score at Limerick and he can bag this Grade 3 en route to bigger spring targets.

The closing hunter chase is an absolute belter but my vote goes to STAKER WALLACE (4.15).

The 10-year-old has a bit to find with some of today’s rivals but he still looked to be on the upgrade when scoring at Limerick so he looks a reasonable each-way bet for shrewd Enda Bolger.

There’s also decent jumping action at Catterick featuring a red-hot novice handicap chase.

Donald McCain has been in flying form and HEARTBREAK KID (2.00) can get the better of a high-quality field.

Brian Hughes’ mount chased home Cheddleton last time and his rival franked that form when following up in terrific style on Tommy Whittle Day at Haydock.

Heartbreak Kid stays on the same mark for that loss and can take advantage here with the champion jockey again doing the steering for his gaffer.

YOU’RE COOL (2.40) is well worth a tentative poke at on the all-weather at Wolverhampton.

The nine-year-old was defeated at Southwell recently but be did it nicely here the time before and he can extend the excellent Laura Pearson’s winning streak.
