It’s Dubai bye Bob worries

-

Bob MacIntyre admits learning to accept what is out of his hands has left a second European Tour win within his grasp.

The Scot will tee up in the final group at the Omega Dubai Desert Classic today after a fiveunder 67 took him to 14 under, one shot off behind leader Paul Casey (64).

MacIntyre, 19 years Casey’s junior, birdied the second and chipped in for eagle at the third only to give the three shots back in his next two holes.

But the Ryder Cup hopeful will not let it linger as he said: “Something I am really working hard on is acceptance.

“I have struggled over the years but it’s been drilled into me the last few weeks by many people to accept what comes, as that has been a weakness.

“So much so that I am starting to appreciate there is nothing I can do once the ball leaves the club.

“Saying that, I controlled my golf ball as well as I have all week. I was patient and committed to every shot. My confidence is as high as it’s ever been.”

MacIntyre won on Tour for the first time at the Cyprus Showdown in November, while another today would crank up his chances of a Masters debut come April.

He said: “I’m not going to hang about. I’m putting everything on the line, whether it’s good or bad.

“But hopefully it’s going to be good. I’ve just got to enjoy it again. It’s another experience I want to get.

“It’s something not many people get the chance at my age to do and I’ll give it everything I’ve got.”

Scott Jamieson (68) is tied 10th on seven under.
