We won’t go Rover the top

McGlynn’s calm as Raith surge to second

-

John McGlynn insists Raith will keep their feet on the ground despite flying high in second spot.

After shock ing Hearts last weekend, the Fifers surprised Dundee with a superb three-goal comeback.

The win put Rovers above rivals Dunfermline, whom they face on Wednesday, and McGlynn said: “It was an excellent performance and I can’t be any happier.

“We can’t get carried away. When we came up we just wanted to be in this league next season and that’s still the target – anything above that is a bonus.”

There were just four minutes gone when Dundee loanee Paul McMullan set up the opener.

The winger’s delivery was clinically volleyed in from the edge of the six-yard box by Osman Sow.

But midway through the first half Dan Armstrong’s corner was played short to Kai Kennedy and the Rangers loanee’s centre was nodded in from close range by Rovers skipper Kyle Benedictus. B

And they took the lead eight minutes m after the break when Reghan Tumilty’s T fizzing drive flashed into the th bottom corner from 30 yards out.

Six minutes later, Raith doubled their th lead with another brilliant goal.

Kennedy waltzed inside Christie Elliott E and curled a magnificent effort into in the far corner of the net.

Dundee boss James McPake handed h a debut to Spurs loanee Malachi M Fagan- Walcott and introduced in new signing Jason Cummings C as a second-half sub.

McPake said: “The better team won the th game. We are disappointed and the th boys are hurting.”
