Warnings as stores issue food recalls

Lidl, Asda, Waitrose and Boots have recalled a number of items amid warnings of food poisoning and allergy risks.

Multivitam­ins, pasta, and mince are among the wave of faulty products, with other stores also issuing recalls.

Some of the items contain ingredient­s not mentioned on the label, according to the Food Standards Agency.

The FSA also found others might contain bacteria linked to food poisoning.

Punters who bought any of the items should head to their local store for a full refund or exchange.

Boots has recalled packs of multivitam­ins – batch code 1805 and 1806, expiry date November 2022 – sold between January 12 and 19, 2021.

Lidl is recalling packs of Birchwood XXL Pork Mince after an investigat­ion found traces of plastic in a batch.

The packs come in 1kg sizes.

Asda, Morrisons and Iceland have issued recalls on Milkybar yogurt packs dated February 13 and 14.

The FSA said:“There is no food safety risk but impact on taste can be unpleasant to consumers.”

Waitrose is recal l ing packs of Patisserie Carrot Cake Muffins because they cont a ins nut s – an ingredient it fai led to mention on the label.

While Pasta Evangelist­s is recalling its packs of Fresh Basil Pesto at Marks & Spencer because of traces of nuts, which are not mentioned on the label.
