A group of 11 Hong Kong prodemocra­cy activists accused of subversion will stay in jail for at least another five days whi le judges consider whether to release them on bail, a court has said.

The group, which includes three former legislator­s, will have hearings on Thursday and on March 13, the High Court said. They are among 47 people charged under a national security law.

A probe has been launched into the death of a sergeant in the Welsh Guards who was fatal ly injured at a firing range.

The incident happened during a live firing exercise at Castlemart­in RAC Range in Pembrokesh­ire on Thursday. Dyfed- Powys Police are liaising with the Health and Safety Executive and the Ministry of Defence.

Breakout for Ben has raised £159,000 in just 10 days.

The event was part of automotive charity Ben’s drive to address a funding shortage of £1million.

More than 980 people from all over the country took part, bringing the charity’s total to just under £737,000.

The idea had been to walk, run, cycle and exercise virtually to reach 80,000 miles.

All funds raised will help Ben support automotive industry staff with their mental health, physical health and wellbeing.

Ben’s Mark Wigginton said: “This means we can always be there to help people when they need us the most.”
