Bayern Munich blew away Bochum 7- 0 to bag top spot in the Bundesliga.

The Bavarians killed off the game in the first half and never took their foot off the gas in promoted Bochum’s heaviest defeat ever in the German top flight.

Joshua Kimmich netted twice with Leroy Sane, Eric Maxim Choupo- Moting, Robert Lewandowsk­i and Serge Gnabry weighing in as well.

Vassilios Lambropoul­os also netted an own goal in Bochum’s battering.

Bayern manager Julian Nagelsmann said: “I am very satisfied with both the result and our attitude.

“We had good structure, made good attacking moves and created many chances.

“The aim of course is the 10th straight title. I am new here and want to pick up where my predecesso­rs left off. The lads are ambitious and always ready to go to the limit.”

Second-placed Wolfsburg – one point behind – play Eintracht Frankfurt today. Mainz are two points further back in third after a goalless draw with Freiburg.

The victory ensured Inter climbed above Roma – who play Hellas Verona today – to go back to the top of the table having taken 10 points from a possible 12 so far.

Fiorentina climbed to fifth after beating Genoa 2-1 thanks to goals from Riccardo Saponara and Giacomo Bonaventur­a.

In Spain, Atletico Madrid kept their place at the top of La Liga after a goalless stalemate with Athletic Bilbao.

Real Madrid and Valencia are both one point behind and face each other today for the right to be No.1.
