-

Tarnawa (3.05) has been peaked for this massive day and can land the Arc.

Dermot Weld has had this prize in mind all season for her and she can power home in the famous Aga Khan silks at Longchamp.

Tarnawa was just electric last year with an unblemished campaign ending with a blistering win in the Breeders’ Cup Turf at Keenland.

Weld brought her back out for a smooth success on reappearance in August and the second placed effort behind St Mark’s Basilica on Irish Champions weekend was a splendid effort over a trip that was clearly too short.

Unsurprisingly, it’s a fantastic contest with a host of top dogs ready to go into battle.

Derby winner Adayar will go off the favourite and has earned that tag with this season’s outstanding exploits.

His stablemate Hurricane Lane is also classy with proven soft ground form and Aidan O’Brien’s decision to supplement Snowfall adds even more spice to the race.

However, Weld is an absolute master and he’ll have Tarnawa bucking and ready for this. At odds of 3/1, that’s the choice.

If you want a long shot to run into a place with some firms offering first five, William Haggas’ Alenquer is worthy of each-way support.

The supporting card at Longchamp is terrific and the opportunity is there to win a few quid.

SUESA (4.25) is a rock-solid favourite for the Abbaye.

Conditions have really come to perfection for the jolly and the fine record of the girls in the race just adds to the appeal.

Suesa ran well enough in the Nunthorpe on ground that would not have suited at York and she can overcome a tricky wide draw.

Constantly backing favourites is not really the way I would usually go but the fancied horses at Longchamp all look solid and RACLETTE (1.50) can win the Boussac with trainer Andre Fabre having waxed lyrical about this one for long enough.

If you aren’t in Paris, there is no better alternative place to watch the Arc than Kelso and I’ll be in the Borders for a smashing card.

The Class 2 Simply Ned Chase just jumps off the page as the contest of the afternoon and last year’s winner NUTS WELL (3.40) has every chance

of repeating the feat.

Skilled trainer Ann Hamilton’s charge took the event before really stamping his class in the game with a victory next time out in the Old Roan Chase at Aintree.

Nuts Well went back to Liverpool to run a beauty behind Fakir D’Oudairies in the Melling Chase and this is a perfect starting point with the trip possibly just on the short side for the outstanding Aye Right.

Dan Skelton is sending Kings D’Argent north for an assault on the prize but

Nuts Well holds sway.

ANNUAL INVICTUS (4.00) is the best bet on the card at Uttoxeter for the Chris Gordon yard and, over in Ireland, it’s worth having a couple of bob on SAYLAVEE (4.55) in the mares’ bumper that closes the card at Tipperary.
