Time Aaron turned over a new Page

- David Lynch

Wales boss Robert Page wants Aaron Ramsey’s Juventus limbo to end – so that he can light up the EPL.

Page hailed Ramsey “an absolute pleasure to watch” af t er the midfielder scored in Friday’s 2-2 draw against the Czech Republic.

The result means World Cup qualification is now in Welsh hands but Page had mixed emotions.

He was delighted wi th 30 - ye a r - old Ramsey’s efforts but lamented the struggle for regular game time that is defining the player’s season in Serie A.

Ex-Arsenal star Ramsey has played just over 100 m i nut e s for Juve this term and his n a t iona l boss would prefer to see him back in the Premier League as a result.

Page said: “Aaron was outstanding – he’s just an absolute pleasure to watch when he’s in that kind of form,

“It’s a crying shame he’s not playing week in, week out. I’d like to see him in the Premier League.”

Ramsey’s opener in Prague looked like counting for nothing as the Czechs hit back to lead 2-1 after a blunder from ex-Aberdeen keeper Danny Ward.

But winger Daniel

James scored a superb leveller to ensure the Dragons remain third in Group E – level on points with their hosts, who have played a game more.

And though Page admitted to feeling disappointed over his team’s failure to take the three points an impressive performance merited, he could see the positives at full-time.

He said: “It shows how far we’ve come that we’ve dominated a game, created enough chances to score three or four goals and we are disappointed that we’re coming away with a draw.

“There are many positives to come out of that.

“It ’s not the result we wanted but it’s the performance that we’re af ter. If we continue to perform like that camp after camp, we’ll win more games than we lose.”

Page also backed former Dons ace Ward to recover from his howler.

He said: “Knowing him as a character, he’ l l bounce back.

“Danny has been excellent since he’s been involved. This happens unfortunately.

“We know he’s strong minded and he’ll come back from this.”
