We are as six as the fans

- Alison McConnell

Andy Ryan insists Hamilton can bounce back from being hit for six by Partick Thistle because the players are just as angr y about the team’s performance as the fans who booed them.

The Jags floored Accies in a r ampa nt s e cond- ha l f display which saw them score f ive times in a 30minute spell.

Accies’ players were back in yesterday to watch a re-run of the 6-1 thrashing and Ryan admits he can’t argue with those who couldn’t hide their anger on Friday night.

He said: “It was nowhere near good enough.

“To go into the break a goal down and think we have a chance in the second-half and then lose five goals just isn’t good enough.

“The fans are quite right to be angry. They pay their money and we gave them nothing. They are entitled to their opinion and they were right to be angry.

“That anger we can hear is there on the pitch as well. We know how angry people are but it is the same for us.”

But Ryan is convinced it can be a turning point for Stuart Taylor’s side.

He added: “We were back in yesterday to analyse the game.

“I think it all comes from the start . We gave them the incentive and it just carried on throughout.

“When we conceded a second goal we needed to stay tight but instead we were too open.

“You go into the dressing room and there were a few words spoken by certain individuals but you can’t escape how bad a night it was.

“But we will go again. We have done it before but we need everyone to stick together and not let it push us back even further.

“We need to make a lot of improvements but this week we’ll look to work on things and go to Kilmarnock next week and get a positive result. It’s all we can do.”
