-

Giovanni Simeone, son of Atletico Madrid boss Diego, pi led more miser y on Juventus as his double sealed a 2-1 win for Hellas Verona in Serie A.

Hitman Simeone scored four in last weekend’s 4-1 win over Lazio and kept up that stunning run with two goals inside 14 minutes.

The first was a poacher’s finish from close range and the s e c ond w a s a sensational effort from distance to stun a static Juve defence.

Max Allegri rang the changes in the second half as he looked to turn things around, with one of his substitutes – Weston McKennie – firing home 10 minutes from time.

But Juve couldn’t find a leveller and dropped behind Verona into ninth.

They are already 13 points adrift of leaders Napoli, who play their game in hand at Salernitana today.

Vinicius Junior fired Real Madrid to the summit in Spain as his double sealed a 2-1 win at Elche.

The Brazilian pounced midway through the first half then doubled the lead after Gutierrez Parejo had been sent off for Elche.

Pere Milla pulled one back late on but Carlo Ancelotti’s side were never in danger as they moved above Real Sociedad at the top.

But Sociedad can return to the summit if they win in the Basque derby against Bilbao today.

Sevilla also moved level on points with Sociedad and Real Madrid by easing to a 2- 0 win over Osasuna.

Diego Carlos fired them ahead five minutes before half- time then Mexican Lucas Ocampos sealed the win after the break.

Bayern Munich bounced back from their shock 5- 0 German Cup loss to Monchengladbach with a 5-2 victory at Union Berlin.

Deadly Robert Lewandowski netted twicewith Leroy Sane, Kingsley Coman and Thomas Muller also on target.

Bayern remain one point clear of second- placed Borussia Dortmund who beat Cologne 2- 0 at home.
