domestic cup as wel l becoming Premiership champions again.

Rangers are currently sitting top of the table, four points clear of their Old Firm rivals.

But they’ve already drawn three games at home, as well as losing to Dundee United on the road.

Laf ferty insists their dip in form is just a blip and is confident Gerrard’s men will be celebrating title No. 56 next May.

The Northern Irishman spent five years at Ibrox in two separate spel ls , winning three titles, two League Cups and one Scottish Cup.

And he told MailSport: “Every team will have one or two bad games.

“But Rangers are in good hands and they have obviously got the best squad of players.

“Although the title race might be a bit tighter than last season, they’ ll still come away with silverware at the end of it.

“I’m confident they’ll get their second title in a row and potentially more trophies too. The squad of players they have is head and shoulders above any of the teams in the league.

“You know that even if they have one or two injuries, the player coming in will actually strengthen the team in a certain way.

“In midweek against Brondby they brought Ianis Hagi, Ryan Kent and Kemar Roofe off the bench.

“That’s a ridiculous bench. Those players would walk into any English Championship side, never mind the other Scottish teams.

“It’s a very strong squad they’ve got and they’ l l strengthen again when they get the chance.

“I know Steven and Michael Beale would probably have liked to be even further ahead at the top of the table.

“But every team has a wee difficult spell.

“It’s about how you come out of it and Rangers have good people in control of things there.

“I ’ m sure they’ l l be celebrat i ng 56 nex t summer and get their hands on a cup as well.”
