The wife of former hellraiser Russell Brand has revealed that a dream date for the couple is going to a clay workshop.

Crafting queen Laura, the sister of TV presenter Kirsty Gallacher and daughter of former Ryder

Laura – whose golfer dad is from Bathgate, West Lothian – hasas just wr it ten herer second bookk filled with homemade craft ideas.

She said: “I once booked ann evening ceramics workshop for myself and my husband as an alternative date night. After we made miniature cups and saucers for our daughters, we moved on to a grown-up mug and bowl and, even more than that, we both found our love of clay and hanging out in an art room with lovely people and herbal tea.” Actor Russell , once famous for his rock ’ n’ roll l ifestyle, is now a teetotal devoted husband and happy living in the countryside with the couple’s two daughters, two dogs, 10 cats and chickens.

They have been married for five years and Russell readily joins his creative wife in crafts including making soaps and clay mugs.

Laura, 37, said: “I create and craft a lot because it makes me feel good. For me, there is a strong link between creativity and well-being.”

She f irst met Russel l , 46, two decades ago after being introduced by her sister. He went on to marry Katy Perry but the pair divorced.

The reformed drug and sex addict – who has been clean and sober for the past two decades – rekindled their relationship after a chance encounter on a canal path in London. Laura – who shares a love of canal- boating with her husband – said they started “courting in the old-fashioned way”.

The couple got married and are now parents to daughters Mabel, five, and Peggy, three.

While Russell is now an author and podcaster, Laura has built a business as a blogger and bestselling writer, teaching others how to make everything from soap on a rope and pressed-flower candles to wax melts and simple body and face exfoliators. She also leads workshops for children and adults at festivals.

Russell is proudly supporting the launch of her latest book, The Joy Journal For Grown-ups.

He said: “The great woman who married me has another great book out. It’s about awakening to your creative nature through activity – you will love it.”
