CHILD SEX SHAME OF COMEDY STAR

Edinburgh Fringe stand-up paid for horrific online abuse sessions

- ■ John Siddle

A stand- up comic who made grim jokes about child molesting is today unmasked as a depraved paedophile.

Eamon Goodfellow, 50, bragged of performing to a full house at the Edinburgh Fringe – while hiding his dark sex abuse secret. The monster, a regular on the comedy circuit in the UK, paid for children in the Philippines and eastern Europe to be violated for his sick gratification. Goodfellow, who brought his shows Humour Trafficking and For He’s a Jolly Goodfellow to the Fringe, faces jail this month. He was the runner-up in the prestigious New Act of the Year talent-spotting show in 2019. He was investigated by the National Crime Agency (NCA) from 2018 but continued to crack gags about paedophilia, incest and pornography.

In clips online, Goodfellow jokes about Prince Andrew’s internet history and makes fun of a young comedian who is too ugly for “child molesting Moors murderers” Myra Hindley and Ian Brady.

Northern Irishman Goodfellow, who has since deleted his Twitter and TikTok accounts, appeared with other comedians at a Zoom comedy show as they joked about paedophilia.

In another show he made a joke about chi ldren’s favourite

Goldilocks being in a train toilet with one of the three bears.

Goodfellow, now of St Albans, Hertfordshire, was arrested in 2018 by NCA officers. Detectives uncovered chat logs between Goodfel low and f ixers in the Philippines and Romania of him craving children under 13.

When a victim was identified, he would direct the facilitators to perform sex acts on the children. Evidence showed he sent payments for the abuse to be carried out.

Goodfellow worked for lottery firm Camelot, which revealed it suspended him when he was revealed as a paedophile. The firm said: “We are mindful of our employment law obligations, and will pursue the strongest possible action in accordance with those.”

The NCA’s Martin Ludlow said: “Goodfellow made it very clear that he has sexual interest in young children in these chat logs.

“He attempted to arrange for the most horrific abuse of vulnerable children thousands of miles away for his own gratification.”

Goodfellow was found guilty at St Albans Crown Court last month of two counts of attempting to cause the sexual exploitation of a chi ld under 13 and wi l l be sentenced on May 31.
