Superfan turns detective to find house

- ■ Amy Sharpe

A super fan of Love Island turned sleuth to identify the villa being used for this year’s TV show.

Web de s i g n e r Victoria Allen downloaded a pic of the house e during construction and used its unique window design and the direction it faced to match it to a property on the internet. Victoria, 44, worked out that this year’s intake will be staying at the rustic Sa Vinyassa holiday home – set on a 210,000sqm estate on Mallorca’s east coast – when the latest series kicks off on June 6.

Located between Artà and Sant Llorenc, the sprawling pad is less than 10km from the villa used for the last five series, which sold for £ 2.57million in March.

A loca l renta l site describes the “exclusive” property, where host Laura Whitmore will introduce contestants, as a “true refuge” with “breathtaking views of green environment”. Bosses wi l l be hoping the fresh air will breathe new life into the show after last year’s average v iewing f ig ures halved f rom si x million per episode to under three. Mum- of- three Victor ia , whose f ami l y used to own proper t y on Mallorca, said: “I’m a massive Love Island fan, have

watched every series and I followed the news about the new villa closely. I love the lifestyles and the escapism – and I love Mallorca.

“I’m in an internet-based job and I love maths, so I made it my mission to find out where it is. I know it sounds sad but it was fun.”

The Sa Vinyassa villa originally slept 12 and had six bedrooms, with a sun terrace and an outdoor shower, but it is being reconstructed ahead of this year’s show.

It appears to be much more rustic than the old villa. Producers appear to have left the villa’s 70sqm pool intact, along with its “diverse outdoor area”. They are installing fairy lights and have reportedly made the gym area bigger.

And no doubt a place will be found for the famous fire pit where couples discover their fate each week.

While previous Islanders were treated to gigs by stars including Craig David and Sean Paul, this year’s could be in for a quieter time as the site warns parties are “strictly prohibited”.

Hopefuls – rumoured to include Ronan Keating’s daughter Missy, 21 – are expected to date at nearby attractions, which include four beaches, a golf course and tapas bars.

Victoria hopes to see some of her favourite spots on the island when the ITV2 hit airs, after other places she loves have previously featured in the show.

Five years ago, her partner Andrew Lof fman, 45, proposed to her at a lighthouse which later appeared in the opening credits.

Victoria, from Bingham, Nottinghamshire, took her children to visit last year’s Love Island villa in Sant Llorenc des Cardassar

on her bir thday in August – on the same n ight singer Mabel performed for contestants.

She said: “We could see laser l ights coming out and hear the music, so we listened outside the walls for a bit – it was a special treat for my birthday.”

Victoria has tried to get tickets for the live final at the villa but has so far been unsuccessful.

She is due to travel to Mallorca for a holiday next month. She added: “Maybe this time I’ll be lucky.”
