Aussies trying to land Andy
Central Coast Mariners want to of fer Andrew Considine a life- changing move to Australia.
The Scotland stopper is a free agent after leaving Aberdeen and the A-League side are keen to entice the experienced campaigner Down Under.
Central Coast recently signed Jason Cummings from Dundee and that move has been a major success.
Mar iners boss Nick Montgomery is a former Scotland Under-21 cap and raided the SPFL top flight to land Cummings in January.
Montgomery is now keen to hold talks with Considine to see if the player and his fami ly would make the switch to Australia.
The 35 - yea r - old is considering options in Scotland, England and Europe as well as Australia.
It is a big decision for Considine who has spent his entire career with Aberdeen.
The stopper had been at
Pittodrie for 18 years as a professiona l but had previously come through their youth ranks.
He made the last of his 569 appearance for the Dons in their final league game of the season at Pittodrie against St Mirren.
His relationship with Aberdeen manager Jim Goodwin had been strained since the defender was told he would not be getting his contract renewed in April.
And the player failed to mention Goodwin when he posted to Instag ram thanking all the bosses from his Dons career.
Considine said: ”To all the managers and staf f I’ve worked under...
“Forever grateful to Steve Paterson for my debut. Jimmy Calderwood for the trust he had in me.
“Mark McGhee for the time he was manager. Craig Brown and Archie Knox, two gentlemen I hold in very high regard.
“Derek McInnes and Tony Docherty brought the best out of me. Stephen Glass and Allan Russell, I learnt so much. A huge thank you.”
