Simms could fit in for Alf

-

of Ibrox star Alfredo Morelos uncertain, he feels Simms could be a useful addition.

Mai lSport columnist Miller said: “The one player in Scotland I’d look at for Rangers is Simms.

“I like the look of him. When you see the trouble Rangers had with strikers at the end of the season, it’s something I’d consider.

“I’m sure the kid will have a few suitors in England.

“When you look at what he could bring and the way he plays, he might be as close to a Morelos as you’ll get.

“He’s not Alf yet, let’s make that clear. He would have a lot to prove before you put him in that bracket.

“But the physicality he’s got, the running power and the quality of goals he’s scored in that short period at Hearts – he’s someone I think could be interesting.

“At the age he’s at, playing in that Rangers team, he could score goals but a lot wi l l depend on what happens with Morelos.”

Miller expects arrivals and departures at Rangers this summer with several

stars such as Calvin Bassey, Joe Aribo and Ryan Kent likely to attract interest.

Van Bronckhorst has already tied up Hearts centre-back John Souttar on a Bosman, with Connor Goldson likely to leave.

The only other Scot playing in the Premiership that Miller reckons could make a move to Ibrox is Aberdeen’s Lewis Ferguson.

But he admi t s the 22-year- old would find it tough to break into Gers’ engine room.

He said: “It would take a lot for Lewis to shift the midfielders already there.

“It would be a dream move for him but would he move Ryan Jack, Glen Kamara, John Lundstram, Scott Arfield or Steven Davis? “I’d probably say no. “But you improve playing with better players. And Lewis scores from midfield.

“Even in a poor season for Aberdeen, he kept a decent level of consistency.

“In terms of players Gers could go for in Scotland, Simms and Ferguson are the only two for me because they’re at a good age.”
