SPOIL YOUR MUM WHILE YOU CAN

Another Mother’s Day and another year without my mum Phyllis. We had our fair share of disagreements. She was a fiery Welsh woman. But as each year passes, I realise I’d never be the man I am today if it weren’t for our mum.

After failing my 11-plus I was determined to make her proud. So I went to sea, on to university and into politics. The day I gave Mum a tour of Downing Street as Deputy PM was one of the proudest of my life. It breaks my heart I can’t tell her I love her this morning. So spoil your mums rotten and show how much you love them while you can.
