The big question... who is Balaclava Man?

-

Despite having the most unimaginative

police codename, Balaclava Man has been responsible for the brutal murder

of two women and the kidnapping and attempted murder of Hana Reznikova

– as well as attacking DS Arnott. But

who will be unmasked tonight? The suspects

are:

JAMES ‘JIMMY’ LAKEWELL

The smug lawyer (Patrick Baladi), who

called wheelchairbound DS Arnott “Ironside”, was the

first person Nick Huntley speed-dialled whenever AC-12

came sniffing – including just minutes before Arnott

was attacked by a man in a balaclava with a baseball

bat.

NICK HUNTLEY

Huntley (Lee Ingleby) pleaded innocence after being arrested by

his own wife for Ifield’s murder. But his

alibi was soon picked apart by AC-12. He even admitted to Roz he had followed her to the victim’s flat – but does he

have the guts to be a killer?

MICHAEL FARMER

Farmer (Scott Reid) was No1 suspect in Operation Trapdoor from the off. Reznikova was found handcuffed in his house along with trophies from the murdered girls. He is a convicted rapist but has learning difficulties. Is he just being used by others?

IS HE A POLICEMAN?

As the show is about police corruption it could well be a copper behind the mask. Newcomer DC Jamie (not James) Desford could have attacked DS Arnott in a bid to replace him in the internal affairs team while DS Neil Twyler has been feeding AC-12 info.

IS THERE MORE THAN ONE BALACLAVA MAN?

Using biometrics, Ifield established that the height and width of the Balaclava Man caught on CCTV didn’t match Farmer.

We then saw creepy Ifield don a balaclava when he visited B&Q to buy equipment to dismember the unconcious Roz.

His flat’s security and his stalker-ish relationship with Reznikova also suggest his sinister side.
