Aimed at undercutting Brits’ wages

IF Theresa May wants to make this election about leadership then let’s make it about leadership.

If she wants to make it about trust then let’s put that trust to the test.

Yet the Prime Minister does not even trust herself to face voters. She spent last week hiding from them.

I have been up and down the country looking voters in the eye. I tell them that if they put their trust in me I will guarantee a government for the many not the few.

And I tell them exactly how Labour will do it.

This is more than we have heard from Mrs May. She talks of leadership, but won’t say what she will do with it.

She asks the people of Britain to follow her but will not say where she is going.

If she trusted herself she would face me in a TV debate. I will meet her any time, any place, anywhere.

The only certain outcome of this election is that one of us will be prime minister at the end of it. That choice is for the British people alone.

So they have the right to question us, to scrutinise us, to judge us on our integrity. That is to put our trust in the British people. That is true leadership. MRS MAY-OR PM has a peck for Andy Street HEALTHCARE SCHEME THERESA May today promises the biggest shake-up in mental health care in 30 years.

The PM says she will scrap the Mental Health Act, end workplace discrimination, ensure support in schools and hire an extra 10,000 NHS staff to treat sufferers.

She says the Act’s laws, dating back to 1983, are flawed because they allow vulnerable people to be held in police cells without reason.

Mrs May said: “We are going to roll out mental health support to every school in the country.

ANXIETY

“We are going to ensure mental health is taken far more seriously in the workplace, and raise standards of care.” She said “10,000 more” mental health professionals would be “in the NHS by 2020”. Changes to the Equalities Act would mean all workers suffering depression, anxiety or bipolar disorder could not be discriminated against.

Now they are only protected if they are ill for 12 months – yet symptoms often come and go. The PM’s vow means big firms would have to train mental health first responders alongside first aiders. Schools would also have to train staff and children would be taught to stay safe online and deal with cyber bullying.
