Watching the ITV Leaders’ Debate was two hours I’ll never get back. Without Corbyn or May, this was a Losers’ Debate. Should she have gone on it?

As PM you’re only giving all your opponents a platform to bash you for 120 minutes. As for Jeremy, he was right to stay away when May chickened out. It would have been like a world heavyweight title challenger turning up for the main event, discovering the champion’s too scared, and being forced to fight the lightweights on the undercard.

May v Corbyn is the only box office fight worth watching.
