Daniel Duty on the school run

-

COUNT ON ME He’s no stranger to intense roles. And Daniel Mays says he turns to exercise and playing with his kids to refocus after long hours on set.

It must do the job too as he earned a Bafta nomination for his work on Line of Duty. And praise flooded in for his turn in Guerilla, a heavy watch about the British black power movement.

Daniel, 39, said: “I run a lot and do things like that to clear my head.

“I’ve got an 11 and a four-year-old so the moment I’m back home I haven’t got time to think. You get on with doing school runs.”

He bonded with Rory Kinnear and Denise Gough after working on Guerilla, which also stars Idris Elba and Freida Pinto. But he admits he struggles to keep in touch.

He said: “You form close-knit working relationships. However, everyone’s got busy lives.

“It’s good while you’re doing it but difficult to maintain friendships after it. Everyone finishes a job and is on to the next.”

Shame.

Guerilla is available on DVD and Blu-ray from tomorrow.
