Watkins wants to get his teeth into resurrecting his brilliant vampire character Herrick for a spin-off show.

He told us: “I floated the idea of a Herrick spin-off but the writers were moving on to the American version of it. I’d love to do a series about how he became who he was. Start a campaign – we’ll get Herrick back.”

There’s a good chance Aidan would pop up again as Herrick’s No2 if the idea progresses, as they’ve stayed friends.

Jason, who played Tim Ifield in Line Of Duty, said: “My son Freddie is in a Poldark episode. Aidan looked after him.”

Ah, fangs, mate.
