What’s it worth?

- JAMIE BREESE

Q I have model cars of four F1 world champions: Graham Hill (Lotus, 1968), Mario Andretti (Lotus, 1978), Ayrton Senna (McLaren, 1990) and Nigel Mansell (Williams, 1992). And also Stirling Moss (1957 Vanwall, British GP win) and Jody Scheckter (1976 six-wheeled Tyrell, Japanese GP win). All by Atlas Editions and boxed.

AGary O’Brien, Birmingham, West Midlands Early German and French Matchbox models made from 1977 are perhaps the hardest to find.

A mint number 30 Magirus Deutz Crane sold for £7,500 a few years ago. As for Corgi, one of my favourites is The Avengers ‘Gift Set 40’ with a vintage Bentley, Lotus Elan and John Steed and Emma Peel figures. It can make over £400. Your Atlas set is really nice, but not so well known. You’d be looking at £10 to £15 to replace most of them.

Q I’m lucky enough to have a pair of signed Phil Collins drumsticks and signed Genesis members’ photos. How much would they be worth? Stephen Hamilton, Mexborough,A South Yorks great for a collection of rock and pop memorabilia. Two really great finds would be sticks signed by Keith Moon FOR-TUNE Sticks of The Who and John Bonham from Led Zeppelin. I think the sticks you have are worth around £100 or so and the photo, maybe £200.

Q I have a collection of old 78 rpm records from the 30s to 40s. There are so many I don’t know where to start and wondered if they can ever be valuable today? June A Roberts, Hammersmith, West London Sadly, more than 90 per cent of all 78s have no real commercial value. The ones to look out for tend to be operatic, in a foreign language and single-sided (from 18981923). There are only perhaps 500 collectors who buy these rare examples.

The Holy Grail is early 20th Century singer Angelica Pandolfini. She made four records and only three have surfaced I understand. They could be worth up to £1,800.
