BRING ME KANE

United manager Mourinho wants £100m Spurs star... and NOT Ronaldo return

- EXCLUSIVE BY JOHN RICHARDSON

JOSE MOURINHO has told his Manchester United bosses to get £100million Tottenham star Harry Kane – and ignore Cristiano Ronaldo. The Old Trafford boss (below) has made it clear that he would prefer a move for England striker Kane rather than attempt to bring back Ronaldo to Manchester.

The 32-year-old Real Madrid star had been linked with a return to United, and vowed to quit Spain, after becoming bitterly involved in a tax row.

Executive Vice-Chairman Ed Woodward was looking at signing off a £100m-plus deal for the Portuguese World Player of the Year. But now that it seems

Ronaldo could be staying at the Bernabeu, Mourinho has urged his employers to make Spurs an offer they can’t refuse for longtime target Kane.

He is also trying to close out a £60m deal for Real Madrid forward Alvaro Morata (right).

Tottenham insist they will not listen to any bids for their England star, but a mind-blowing offer of Ronaldo proportions – in the region of £100m – would certainly give Spurs chairman Daniel Levy food for thought.

Mourinho is a huge fan of England striker Kane and believes United should pay whatever it costs to land him.

The Special One believes a strike force of Kane and Morata would enormously enhance United’s Premier League title ambitions more than

Ronaldo’s arrival in the twilight of his career.

Mourinho is also pushing to conclude a deal for Inter Milan midfielder Ivan Perisic in his bid for the title next season.

Chelsea midfielder

Nemanja Matic is also on his radar.
