Annie (Channel 5, 1.00pm - 3.15pm) Family comedy remake of the 1982 original, starring Quvenzhane Wallis and Jamie Foxx. Orphan Annie has learned to keep her head held high while living with her cruel foster mother. Miss Hannigan. Things seem to look up for her when mayoral candidate Will Stacks agrees to take her in. He believes that he is acting as a guardian angel, but comes to learn that it is actually her who will save him (2014)

Hulk (Channel 4, 1.30pm - 4.10pm) Action, with Eric Bana and Jennifer Connelly. Scientist Bruce Banner seeks to develop a way for the body to heal itself after traumatic injury. During an experiment, he’s exposed to compounds he has developed, along with a massive dose of gamma radiation. Miraculous­ly he survives. However, it’s not long before he realises that he has paid a terrible price for his survival and is transforme­d into a huge, green, rage-fuelled creature. Terrified, he embarks on a desperate search for a cure. However, the military is hot on his trail, and they plan to use his brute force for their own nefarious plot (2003) ★★★

Nanny McPhee & the Big Bang (UTV, 3.25pm - 5.35pm) Family comedy, starring Emma Thompson, Asa Butterfiel­d and Maggie Gyllenhaal. The titular childminde­r visits a stressed mother during the Second World War, when her husband has gone off to fight. McPhee takes it upon herself to teach the woman’s children, as well as their two spoilt cousins, a series of important life lessons (2010) ★★★

Happy Feet (RTE 2, 3.40pm - 5.35pm) Animation, with the voices of Elijah Wood and Brittany Murphy. In a world where penguins find their soulmates through their song, youngster Mumble struggles being out of tune, but he does have a talent for something strange – tap dancing. But the community elders aren’t impressed and cast Mumble out of the group. On his own for the first time, Mumble must try to find his place in the world as he meets a group of penguins who embrace his dancing

ways and invite him to join them (2006) ★★★

Olympus Has Fallen (Channel 5, 9.00pm - 11.15pm) Action, starring Gerard Butler, Aaron Eckhart and Morgan

Freeman. A terrorist attack sees an extremist group lay siege to the White House. They take the building and manage to kidnap the President. However, Secret Service agent Mike Banning has gone undetected inside, and is the last hope when it comes to stopping them (2013) ★★★

Speed (RTE 2, 9.30pm - 11.35pm) Action, starring Keanu Reeves, Sandra Bullock and Dennis Hopper. After foiling a mad man’s hostage plan in an office building, LAPD detective Jack Traven must stop the terrorist’s revenge plot, planting a bomb on board a bus full of passengers which is set to detonate if the vehicle dips below

The Grand Budapest Hotel (Channel 4, 11.05pm - 1.00am) Wes Anderson’s quirky comedy, starring Ralph Fiennes, Tony Revolori and Saoirse Ronan. A writer ends up staying in a oncemagnif­icent hotel in Europe, where he meets the elusive owner. The hotelier proceeds to tell the writer of the glory days of the establishm­ent between the First and Second World Wars, when he was hired to work as a lobby boy by the fussy but legendary concierge, Gustave H. The pair form a friendship, and end up on a whirlwind adventure together involving murder, romance and a mystery surroundin­g a priceless painting. Tilda Swinton, Bill Murray and Ed Norton also feature (2014) ★★★★

Enter the Dragon (Channel 5, 11.15pm - 1.15am) Classic martial arts action, starring Bruce Lee and John Saxon. Skilled fighter Lee is approached by secretive intelligen­ce agent to gather evidence on notorious criminal overlord Han, while the crook hosts a high-stakes martial arts competitio­n on his private island.

Lee is entered into the contest, but soon discovers that its fights are deadly (1973)
