TERRIERS GET KANED

-

SPURS manager Mauricio Pochettino is running out of superlatives to describe Harry Kane.

The England ace hammered a brace in Tottenham’s impressive romp at Huddersfield.

“It’s difficult to talk about Harry Kane

every three days!” admitted the Argentine chief (below).

“To find a different word to describe him is hard.

“He is great in front of goal, but also when we don’t have the ball.

“He fights, runs and works hard. That mentality makes him one of the best strikers in the world.

“He is so humble and we are so happy and lucky to have him.”

The 24-year-old also matched Cristiano Ronaldo’s Premier League tally of 84 goals in the process – but has plundered his in 73 games fewer.

On matching Ronaldo’s feat, Pochettino played down the comparison between his star striker and the four-time Ballon d’Or winner.

He said: “Cristiano is an amazing player on a different level, along with Messi. But Harry is still so young and the gap to improve is so massive.

“But it’s up to us to push him every day to get better and better.

“Any player, whether they are 24 or 34, can improve.”

Kane, who has spoken of his desire to replicate the Portuguese player, admits his purple patch in front of goal means he will be sad to see the back of September.

His pair of strikes at the John Smith’s Stadium yesterday took him to 13 goals for the month – achieved in just eight games for club and country.

His first effort was an opportunistic strike while his second was a corking effort that curled into the top corner.

Kane said: “If you look at the goals to games, it’s probably the best month I’ve had, especially after August. I’m feeling good.”
