Spare the pest sprays and save the bee
I am buzzing with happiness at the announcement that the UK will support the ban on pesticides known as neonics – the main cause of the decline of the world’s bee population and other flying insects. Professor Dave Goulson, of Sussex University said: “We appear to be making vast tracts of land inhospitable to most forms of life, and are currently on course for ecological Armageddon. If we lose the insects then everything is going to collapse.”
The English garden would never be the same without our beautiful butterflies, bees and beetles.
So if we don’t embrace eco-friendly gardening, we’ll all get stung in the end.
