Xmas ad is a weepie
It’s become a tradition for many of us that Christmas starts with the John Lewis advert launch, and what a treat they have given us this year.
Their story of a little boy (who couldn’t be cuter if he tried) and his friendship with a 7ft monster called Moz will melt your heart.
And if you are hormonal like me, you start crying as soon as you hear the opening bars of the featured song, Elbow’s heart-warming Golden Slumbers.
Well done, John Lewis, for a magical ad. And double well done for putting a mixed-race family at its centre. It’s a statement of inclusion and diversity with kindness at its heart.
