GROSS NO HAS BEAN!

- BY NEIL MOXLEY

BEANZ meanz... not very much to Pascal Gross, as it goes.

While it’s the go-to grub for plenty of Brits, Brighton and Hove Albion’s new German midfielder is strictly ‘no can do’ about the tinned favourite.

The £3million summer signing from Ingolstadt adores his new seafront home. Gross (above) also loves the Seagulls’ faithful, the South Coast and manager Chris Hughton.

But as for baked beans? Gross finds them, well, gross.

He said: “I don’t like baked beans. Those ones you have for breakfast... how they look... I can’t even try them.

“I’ve already told people I’ll never eat them. I can’t. It’s the way they smell and look.

“They were the first things I saw when I arrived at the training ground.

“I took a photo of them and sent it to my friends in Germany and one sent a message back saying, ‘No chance’.”

At 26, Gross is no clearly has-been. Might an impressive first Premier League season lead to the ultimate honour – a place in Germany’s squad for the 2018 World Cup?

“No, it’s too late for me,” Gross said, before dishing up praise for countrymen Mesut Ozil – like beans, something of an acquired taste.

Gross insisted: “Some people aren’t convinced about him, but the only thing why he is criticised is his body language. His ability as a footballer is there for all to see.”
