My £2,800 Xmas gifts for my PET

- EXCLUSIVE BY RACHEL SPENCER

Pet blogger Eva Thompson has spent a king’s ransom on gifts for her spaniel – as pets get ready to pounce on a record festive treat.

Eva’s Cavalier King Charles Spaniel Amelia will have £2,800 worth of gifts under the tree.

She is being treated to two coats – one from Loro Piana that cost £735.

There’s also a pendant set from Canine Chic for £440, and a cashmere jumper, a snip at £395.

Eva, 24, from West London, said: “I love to spoil her, she loves Christmas and knows how to open her presents herself.

“I like her to look nice and her wardrobe is an extension of my own.

“She has a designer coat for example, and

I have a matching one. When I saw the cashmere I had to decide whether to buy one for myself or one for Amelia. I chose the one for her as seeing her happy brings me joy.”

Eva left her accountancy job this year to run blog evaandamelia.com and her Instagram page.

As well as working with pet firms, five-year-old Amelia models human fashion too.

Eva said: “Amelia enjoys posing. If I put something on her she doesn’t like I can tell by the expression on her face so I take it off.”

Charity Support Adoption for Pets found owners are spending £200million this Christmas – with the average at £50.

Top gifts include advent calendars and festive jumpers, as well as toys and treats.
