Posh’s injury heels fast
Emma: I healed rift with Geri.. we leave our egos at the door
POSH Spice strolls unaided through a New York airport… hours after being seen hobbling on crutches in snowy London.
The 43-year-old, who has a small stress fracture, assured her Twitter fans she “just needs some rest”. But as our pictures show, not even a foot injury will keep the fashion queen from popping on a pair of high heels for her public.
Victoria ditched the crutches as she landed at JFK to see eldest son Brooklyn for his 19th birthday today.
EMMA Bunton has told how the Spice Girls have put their creative tensions behind them and are now closer than ever, saying: “You kind of have to leave egos at the door.”
Revealing her hope that fans will still get to see the group perform again, the singer added: “It’s all about respect. You’ve got to have respect for each other to move on in a girl band.
“You’re not always going to be lead singer, you’re not always going to be the one up front. So you deal with that.
Mum-of-two Emma, 42 – the band’s Baby Spice – said she believes they owe it to fans to sing again.
She said: “They’ve been so supportive, we can’t ignore that. They’ve been behind us at every step.
“It was our 20th anniversary last year and Geri, myself and Mel B and Mel C, we thought it might be great to do something. But we couldn’t make it work, and we feel for that.”
Emma, now a radio DJ, says any tensions between the band and Ginger Spice Geri – who walked out after No1 hit Viva Forever – have now been laid to rest.
She said: “We’ve talked about it. My thing with her at that time, it was like my sister kind of going… I don’t want you to do this – leaving, not explaining.
“It was hard but it’s water under the bridge. She wanted to do something else and felt something wasn’t right for her.
“It was a while before she came back but we’re so close now. I love being around her – our children hang out.”
It is Emma’s family – her partner, R&B singer Jade Jones, 39, and sons Beau, 10, and Tate, six – that keep her grounded.
She said: “My eldest is very sporty, good at football – and he’s just won the long jump. The youngest is all about music and dancing, dressing up and being fabulous. He’s a fan of music, he teaches me a lot.
“I smother them in hugs and kisses. The most important thing is our love and affection.”
Emma says the five, who first split in 2000, all adore each other – but that being mums is their big priority. Whether that leaves time for the much hoped-for reunion remains to be seen. With Posh Spice Victoria Beckham reluctant to commit, former manager Simon Fuller has hinted: “It may be just four, not five.”
