DARREN ANSWERS THE CAUL
DARREN McCAULEY smashed in a second half sizzler against Ballymena in
Coleraine’s 1-0 victory at Ballycastle Road to keep their title challenge on the boil.
The big midfielder hit a screamer on 57 minutes to relieve the tension that had hovered over the Showgrounds all afternoon.
It was a game of rugged tackles and miss-placed passes with precious little good football played.
“It wasn’t a classic,” said a relieved Coleraine boss Oran Kearney. “We were delighted to get the three points, from what was a very tricky game.
“Ballymena came where with nothing to lose. Credit to our lads for sticking at it.
“The one negative was we were a wee bit wasteful in front of goal, but sometimes to have to win games without being at our best.”
